Be My Last

This song,
The one playing right now,

This is the song I'm walking away to.

This is the song before the credits roll.

This is the song before the ending.

The last song in which you have a chance to change things.

I didn't want it to end like this,
But I thought you did.

This was never about me,
It was never my story.
It was yours,

It is yours.

  1. The final song; this is the end. Whether things change in your favor or not, the song must finish; the credits must roll, and the movie must end.

Perhaps you hope that if things change, there might be a sequel? Maybe a happier one.

But do they know they have a chance to alter the end? Have you made it clear to them? Or does this music merely play in your head?

Are you trying to give yourself the illusion that you're giving them a chance? That you want the ending to change. Have you made them aware of the song's end? Or have you automatically assumed that they are omniscient?

Do you think they'll make this connection? The end of the song means the end of the relationship? Or do you think they'll be whip-lashed when it all ends without explanation?

Or maybe, they won't notice at all. Perhaps they gave up long ago. They gave you the same chance you're giving them; a song that they can't hear. Have you considered that maybe your song ended long ago, but you never really noticed?

Or perhaps you did you notice, and now you want to give them one last chance to fix it? To let them know this doesn't have to be the end. Have you considered that there might be a reason they saw fit for your song to end so soon? Are you concerned as to why they wanted to get out; to run away?

Or are you tired of waiting around for them, without explanation? Has your patience weaned?

Have you decided that they aren't worth it anymore?

  2. To the guy who keeps commenting on every post: Shut up and enjoy the posts. This isn't a fucking whodunit novel. Stop trying to be more artsy than the actual artist. It's not working. And it's creepy. THANKYOU.

  3. Perhaps they are not being artsy at all. Perhaps they have been left in a relative situation, and when the person gave up, it hurt them. Maybe they just want to make sure that they're making the right choice.

Also, they gave thought into the comment, and it meant something to them, and your comment just hurt their feelings.

They can relate with this blog, and they should be able to talk about it openly. The comment was not written to hurt anyone; it was meant to open eyes so hopefully someone won't make the same mistake as they did.

So don't be such an ass, because it wasn't meant to be more artsy, or anything. The poetry written by 'Matthew Haines' is amazing, no doubt about it. However, other people do have a say, and they wrote what came to mind. It didn't attack the author; it was merely trying to find out whether he would be making the right choice; whether he was ready to leave it all in another's hands.

So please, show some sympathy, 'cause not everyone makes it out perfectly okay.
