More than a Moment

My disappointment continues to grow as I meet people who aren't you.

None of them can answer the questions on my mind.

None of them can quell the hunger for more than a fleeting moment.

None of them could trigger a memory,
like you have.

  1. 'As I meet people who aren't you'; you seem to have met me already. Have you already set your standards, so no one but me may reach them?

    'None of them can answer the questions'; perhaps that is because the answers you so eagerly seek are those of which only I can give. They are questions my presence has brought forth, and therefore the answers belong to me.

    'None of them can quell the hunger for more than a fleeting moment'; Can I sate the hunger? Or do you not know; I only give you a moment of my time, therefore leaving you wanting more. A person dying of dehydration, taunted with a drop of water. Do you keep wondering 'what if.' What if I stuck around for longer than a moment? Would I quell the hunger then?

    'None of them could trigger a memory'; To trigger a memory, you must have the time to create one first. Do you even give others a chance? Or have your eyes seen the one, and set sail?

    How is your peripheral vision? Blurry, like everyone else? When you're too fixated on one thing, everything else will pass you by. You won't notice the world change.

    Change doesn't happen fast, but this;

    this will last longer than a moment.
